Work and study
PMDD at work and in study: asking for flexibility without naming a diagnosis, and what adjustments can look like.
- You do not have to name a diagnosis to ask for flexibility. "A recurring health condition" is enough.
- Use Plan my hard week to move big deadlines and meetings out of your hard window.
- A doctor's letter can support a request for adjustments, such as working from home or flexible hours on the worst days.
- In many countries, including South Africa, employers may have to consider reasonable adjustments for recurring health conditions that limit your work. HR or a labour adviser can confirm what applies to you.
